Each piece is unique because its design is considered individually, to highlight the beauty contained within each log or piece of timber turned. It is a dialogue between the artisan and the wood, to uncover the grain and shape it so it will show itself at its best and to unravel the hidden knots and patterns that nature has created. When a piece is mounted onto the lathe, I let it speak to me and hear the story that has to say to the world.
